JAMES CALLIS, "Dr. Gaius Baltar"
James Callis: We were here [Comic-Con] last year, after the airing of the miniseries. And this year, as somebody just said to me, it's a bit like night and day, because... I don't know. Hundreds, hundreds more people this year coming to check out Battlestar Galactica. The room was packed to capacity.
|
Callis: And last year I remember seeing, I don't know, a few empty seats in the auditorium, and this was like -- I don't know how many people fit in that room, but it was, like, thousands of people who had all watched the show and knew everything about the show, and it was amazing!

MARY MCDONNELL, "Laura Roslin"
Mary McDonnell: It sort of, um, feels more like a natural evolution for me than I would have anticipated. The script itself, when it was sent to me, I kind of giggled, because I couldn't put me, my sort of earthy face and what I do, uh, into that sort of pristine sci-fi world, or so I misperceived it.
|

McDonnell: So it's a continuation of this feeling of, um, just awe about the amount of people who are willing to go in there with us and tackle these ideas. And they're smart, and they're excited, and it's just... it's high. You feel like a rock star.

RONALD D. MOORE, "Executive Producer & Writer"
Ronald D. Moore: In the second season, what you're going to see is an extension of a lot of things that happened towards the end of the first season. In fact, in a lot of ways, the first season doesn't really end until episode 7. At the end of last season, you know, Adama was shot, Sharon was... obviously had revealed herself as a Cylon; Kara was trapped on Caprica, we had other people trapped on Kobol; those plotlines all continue for several episodes. We didn't really want to wrap everything up in a neat package at the end of the first hour. So, for instance, Adama isn't in command of the Galactica for several episodes; Colonel Tigh is. And while Colonel Tigh will prove to be a good man to have at the helm when the chips are down and the bullets are flying, when the combat's over, he's not the smartest man to have at the head of the fleet, and things will go from bad to worse.
|
Moore: And then after, like, episode 7, we start a new series of plotlines and plot threads and new guest stars, and a lot of players who didn't get a lot of screen time in certain episodes of last season are going to get a significant amount of screen time in this season. And some of them will not survive, you know, the storylines, but characters like Crashdown and Dualla and Billy and Gaeta and a lot of players that may seem like they're just part of the background are actually going to have, you know, storylines and will be developed further. And the sort of world that is Galactica sort of continues to expand. We have a lot of great things coming your way for season two.
